photo 5Almost anyone would probably say that I should leave it alone.  It’s beautiful as it is.  And I can agree, except that there were some cosmetic issues with this one that I felt only paint could repair.  This vanity sat in my shop for almost six months before I finally decided to re-vamp it.  I was torn, just as most would be.  Not to mention, it’s been so cold and I just don’t do cold.  Finally, a warm day!  And it began… I used my homemade chalk paint recipe and two-toned it with a beautiful robin’s egg blue (the photos DO NOT do this color justice) and an antique white.  I apologize for my photography skills,  but it is truly beautiful.  My original intention was to bring this to my store to sell, however once started, I decided this would look so cute in my daughter’s room.

Unfortunately, I think she is unsure if she wants to use it.  It is now sitting in my shop…waiting for a home.

So, as I said last week, I HAD to revisit these cute little flour sack towels.  I decided to tea dye a few of them and get started on dressing these things up a bit.  I found some beautiful graphics, (kitchen related, of course) for the towels, printed them out and transferred them.  I think they came out quite lovely!

I then decided to try my hand at sewing a few pillows.  I found some nice graphics for these, as well.  I must say I am definitely a novice when it comes to using my sewing machine.  But, I wasn’t too disappointed with the results…I learn a little more about the thing every time I use it.

These are for sale in the store…towels are $5 each and the pillows are $8 each.
